Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you call us, message us on WhatsApp, or use the contact form or chat box on the Site, we may collect:

• Your name, phone number, and email address
• The patient's name, if you are booking for someone else
• Pickup address, destination, and appointment date and time
• Mobility needs, such as wheelchair, stretcher, or a companion riding along
• Insurance plan name and member ID, if you ask us to check coverage
• Anything else you choose to write in a message

Information collected automatically. The Site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare automatically processes technical information about each visit, including your IP address, browser and device type, the page you requested, the page that sent you to us, and the date and time. Cloudflare uses this information to deliver the Site and protect it from abuse, and provides us with summary traffic reports that we use to count visits and keep the Site working. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or advertising tracking on the Site.

2. How we use your information

• To schedule, confirm, and provide your transportation
• To contact you about your ride, including by phone, email, or text message
• To verify insurance coverage or eligibility when you ask us to
• To answer questions and provide customer service
• To keep the Site working, secure, and improving
• To meet legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use health or mobility information for advertising.

3. How we share your information

We share information only as needed to provide our services:

• Drivers and staff who carry out your trip
• Healthcare providers and facilities you are traveling to or from, to coordinate your appointment
• Insurance plans and payers, to verify coverage and bill for services you request
• Service providers who help us run the Site and our business, such as Cloudflare (website hosting and security), Web3Forms (delivers contact form and chat box messages to our inbox), and WhatsApp (if you choose to message us there), under obligations to protect your information
• Authorities, when required by law, court order, or to protect someone's safety

Messages you send through the contact form or chat box go to Web3Forms, which emails them to us at info@medtransportpr.com. Web3Forms keeps a copy of submissions on its servers for a limited time and may check the sender's IP address and email with spam-filtering services. Its privacy policy is available at web3forms.com.

4. Protected health information

If we receive your health or insurance information in connection with covered services, we handle it as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Our Notice of Privacy Practices explains those rights in detail and is available on request. If this policy and the Notice conflict for health information, the Notice controls.

5. Text and WhatsApp messages

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we may send ride confirmations, reminders, and updates. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. We do not share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing. If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp (owned by Meta) also handles those messages under its own terms and privacy policy.

6. Cookies and your choices

You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. Some parts of the Site may not work properly without them. The Site itself does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The map on our Contact page is provided by Google Maps, which may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.

7. How long we keep information

We keep information as long as needed to provide services and to meet legal, billing, and record-keeping requirements. We then delete or de-identify it.

8. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections on the Site. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by Puerto Rico and federal law.

9. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13. Parents or guardians may book rides for minors; in that case the adult provides the information.

10. Your rights

You may ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to legal and record-keeping requirements. Contact us using the details below.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
